2. Prepare a Product and Size List
List each pipe, bend, branch, access fitting, coupling and clamp with the required size and quantity. A marked drawing or bill of quantities helps the supplier check whether all system components are included.
3. Match the Connection Components
The coupling, clamp and seal must be reviewed for the selected pipe and fitting system. Do not assume that one generic material description or torque value applies to every model.
4. Define Documentation Requirements
Tell the supplier which catalogues, data sheets, test reports, certificates, quality records, packing photos or inspection documents are required. Coverage and validity should be checked for the actual product and production entity.
5. Confirm Packing and Marking
Agree on packing method, product labels, shipping marks, destination-market information and any distributor branding before production.
6. Review OEM Items Separately
For products made from drawings or samples, provide material, dimensions, tolerances, quantities, standards and acceptance criteria. Tooling, minimum order quantity and lead time are confirmed after engineering review.
7. Request a Controlled Quotation
A useful quotation should identify product descriptions, sizes, quantities, commercial terms, packing assumptions, requested documents and any points still awaiting confirmation.
Installation Reminder
Verify that pipes, fittings, seals and couplings match. Inspect components for damage or contamination, align joints correctly, use the approved installation document and confirmed tools, and follow project requirements for supports, movement, fire stopping, testing and acceptance. Do not use an unverified torque value.
